Designed by Danes but handmade in India, the Mater Shade Pendant is a simple dome shade that embodies the cross-cultural design ethos promoted by Mater. The smooth outer shell stands in contrast to the intricately hand-hammered texture on the inside, completed by artisans in a small workshop in Jaipur. In addition to the generous amount of light reflected below, a distinct dot pattern graces the apex of the dome that allows glowing light to shine above.

Founded in 2006 by Henrik Marstrand, Mater (Latin for “mother”) is a Danish lighting and furniture brand with a highly ethical approach to design.
