The Roest Mini Pendant by Graypants has a minimalistic silhouette that is elevated by natural materials. From Dutch designer VanJoost, this pendant is forged from iron that has then spent time with oxygen and water. Embracing the Dutch translation its name: rust, the natural oxidation process that transforms this fixture is treated to prevent further aging, resulting in a uniquely handcrafted addition to spaces. Capturing rough materials within a familiar form, the design this pendant embodies a lack complexity, for a simple yet bold piece, built to display a natural array colors and materials.
Founded in 2007 in Seattle, Washington, Graypants is the creative brainchild of architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker. Known for their acclaimed first line of pendant lights made entirely of repurposed cardboard, Graypants has matured into an industrial and product design studio with a diverse portfolio of lighting focused on responsible production. Each pendant is characterized by this philosophy of local and sustainable production, and the company has even branched out to the European market stationed in Amsterdam.
