The Moooi Random Light, designed by Bertjan Pot, is hugely dramatic and light as a feather. It began as a modernist craft project. Pot at first attempted knitting the fiberglass and then turned to wrapping the epoxy-dipped fiberglass around an inflatable mold. Once the mold was popped, the wonderful fiberglass globe remained. The exposed bulb in the center creates an allover glow when lit.

Simple yet beautiful
Absolutely love this light. I purchased the small white one for a sunroom/playroom. The ceiling is slightly vaulted and slanted and it looks great. I did not want to put in a light that is too trendy. This mooi light is a classic yet still interesting. The small size is the perfect size for our choice of room. (It’s really not that small actually). Highly recommend

Beautiful light cast with shadows moving on wall
Beautiful lightweight random Moooi large light. The light moves a little due to airflow and casts a beautiful moving shadow on the wall. Great price and offer from Lumens and fast delivery.

Perfect In-between of Chandelier and Pendant
We installed this fixture in the stairway of our clients new home. The space didn't afford for a large or oversized chandelier but was too big for a pendant(s). This fixture casts really cool shadows, is a conversation piece, and definitely filled the space in quite nicely.

Centerpiece
I bought the medium size in white. It's the centerpiece of my modern home's stairway tower. It's elegant and ethereal, and it doesn't even have to be turned on to be interesting; shadows from daylight through it are beautiful. Very happy with this purchase!
One caveat: The lumens.com description does note that even for the white Random, the cord is black and the canopy is chrome, but somehow that didn't come across for me until I received the shipment. If you wanted everything white on your white Random, you would need to have it rewired after purchase. I decided it wasn't worth the fuss.
Shipment was in a large cardboard carton on a wooden palette.
This was not a crazy expensive purchase but it wasn't inexpensive. A good value for the drama it imparts, I'd say.

Installation required skills
We bought two Non random lights from Moooi in black. Heads up, the canopy, i.e., the part that goes onto the ceiling is shiny chrome (think bathroom fixtures). It was rather disappointing since we have written confirmation from Lumens that the black pendant will have a black canopy. No point in arguing with Lumens as they were probably given bad information from the manufacturer. For a $$$ pendant, we thought the color scheme would have been better thought out. Luckily, our experienced electrician was able to rig the units. We had to go to our local plastic place and custom made two 7.5" black acrylic rounds with a 0.5" hole in the middle for the cord to come thru. 1/8" inch thick. Then we had to take one of the chrome pieces to the electroplating shop and had it changed to black nickel finish. All this so the parts that are affixed to the ceiling are ideal. The lamps themselves are stunning, just didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. Also, it was a conversion from a recessed light to a pendant for us.

Beautiful unique design
Simple yet incredibly stylish and elegant. I bought 2 of these lamps for my living room ( one big, one small). Gives the room a beautiful warm glow. I just love it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique contemporary statement
