The award-winning Pantheum Wall/Flushmount from Lee Broom mesmerizes with handcrafted materials glazed in sequenced light. Creator Lee Broom's pieces are underscored by their blend of classicism and modernity. A modern mounting system makes the piece a great choice on the ceiling or the wall, whether as a single or expansive group. Cast from jesmonite, the geometric structure achieves a time-tested look with a sandblasted surface and a familiar stepped pattern. The pattern of the structure receives crisp highlights from the acrylic diffused light, making for a hypnotic image.
Mastering multiple design disciplines, Lee Broom is heavily inspired by the history of British design, from both a decorative and manufacturing perspective. His work regularly references his homeland’s past, though just as regularly offers a slight subversion of those traditional motifs and techniques in his contemporary recontextualizations. Since 2010, he's been collecting British Design Awards on a regular basis, including recognition in 2011 as Designer of the Year and a 2012 nod for his Crystal Bulb, a modern reframing of traditional cut crystal craftsmanship.
