Key Features
A sculptural design inspired by the bright Nunki star of the Saggitarius constellation. The Nunki No 6 Chandelier from Iacoli keeps the head tilted up in awe like a night of stargazing. Through the exploration of lines, planes, and volumes, Seattle-based designer Iacoli realizes their ethos of beauty, quality, and style. Quality comes across instantly with an intricately arranged brass suspension. The asymmetric setup of the piece says style with movement. As classic sources of beauty, blown glass shades direct the eyes in 4 directions with crisp optics. Globe bulbs feature on the piece like the bright dots on a star map. These charming forms work together to produce an ambient downlight.
Iacoli and McAllister make nice things. Very nice things. The pair take a reductive approach to design, toying with the balance of positive and negative spatiality while adhering to a core set of design principles that frame their collective process - proportion, scale, color and fabrication. Coupled with the duo's constant exploration of material mediums and various industrial processes, their seamlessly attuned sensibilities infuse the studio's work with a clean and chromatic Donald Judd-like minimalism.
