Designer Tom Stepp’s knack for functional designs with friendly forms carries on in the smile-worthy Nestor Side Chair from Mater. While it pleases you, it also pleases mother nature as its FSC-certified wood is harvested from forests that are respectfully maintained with care for the local flora and fauna. As the shaker tradition stressed simplicity, utility, and honesty, so does this refined wood structure. With neat leads, the chair forces a subtly bent backrest for a form-hugging feel. The woven, paper-cord seat makes a statement with its artisanal feel. Comfort flows through each of its threads as they recess inwards in a geometric design.
