Key Features
The Modular Floor Lamp from Midgard looks as fresh as ever, sporting a construction made with the original techniques and machinery as when it was first introduced in the 1920s. It’s a piece that’s been revered for its functional beauty, whether in the iconic Bauhaus school or the many studios of the 20th century’s most influential creatives. It complements the space around it with a low-profile base and an arrangement of slender arms. These arms articulate with Midgard’s iconic joint system for a tailored silhouette. The adjustable shade illustrates the craftsmanship in play with a smooth dome shade and an elegant rotary switch. Light streams out of the shade with direction and a comfortable glare-free quality.
German-based Midgard was founded by Curt Fischer in 1919. Largely considered the inventor of tractable light, Midgard lighting has a legendary history as the main supplier of lamps for the Bauhaus. Now led by David Einsiedler and Joke Rasch, Midgard lighting specializes in five designs: AYNO, K831, TYP113, Modular and Springbalanced.
