A tasteful, contemporary fixture, it uses a steel stem and low-profile canopy to suspend damp listed LED lamping inside a vertical cylinder of etched opal glass. This otherwise simple design is further enhanced by two sleek square frames that wrap the first diffuser’s upper and lower ends. Each frame provides both an element of reinforcement for the fixture while using short pegs to suspend two rectangular panels of clear-lined glass in parallel to pick up sparkles of the ambient glow beneath them.
The creative and often humorous mid-century modern aesthetic of George Kovacs (1926-2007) made a lasting impression on contemporary lighting.
