Like a sketch from an artist, cool lines are realized in the 3-dimensional space as a gorgeous suspended piece. The Mercer Chandelier from Jamie Young Co. goes all in with a clean, sculptural design, using tried and true artistic techniques that give it a signature surface texture. The multi-tier structure is made up of soft curves and crisp lines that culminate into long, slender lamp holders. Its framework is layered with plaster than glazed with gesso, giving it a crafted look, you can feel. Its light is silhouetted with charming spherical bulbs that nestle themselves beautifully over the piece.
A day trip to Mexico in the 90’s inspired husband and wife David and Jamie to utilize unconventional materials in design. They began incorporating flower pots as lamp bases, and from there the Jamie Young Company was born; focusing on unique materials and taking note on current design trends. By taking influence from their travels and their love of art and history, Jamie Young and David Jeter have sought to build a company that can bring a global aesthetic into a variety of homes.
