Noteworthy Products from B&B Italia
The Le Bambole series, designed by Mario Bellini in 1972, was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. Featuring an extreme naturalness of shape and a combination of softness, elasticity and comfort, in 2022 it was presented in a revamped version that uses recycled polyethylene for the structure can be easily disassembled and recycled. Gaetano Pesce’s Up5_6 chair, designed in 1969, is entirely made of flexible cold-shaped polyurethane foam covered in elastic fabric. With anthropomorphic references to the womb and ancient statues of goddesses of fertility, it is a metaphor of the woman that, in the designer’s personal idea, has always been a prisoner of herself and a victim of prejudice. An innovative system of cables, hooks and rings defines the characteristic look of the iconic Camaleonda sofa by Mario Bellini. Designed in 1970, it was re-edited in 2020. The newest iteration of Camaleonda features a “sandwich” structure made up of recycled or recyclable materials that can be easily disassembled. Fat-Fat & Lady-Fat, the small table collection by Patricia Urquiola, were designed in 2004. Inspired by once-popular sand-filled ashtrays, Fat-Fat and Lady-Fat feature fabric exteriors with internal compartments for storage.
