Key Features
A ball of wonder, intricately crafted in the heart of Marrakech, Morocco. Get lost in the sea of traditional hand punched details wrapping across the elegant modern form of the Kota Pendant from Dounia Home. Based in Morocco, Dounia Home bridges the rich artisanal tradition of its country with a modern lighting aesthetic. While simple, it's a piece with design roots spanning centuries, inspired by the Moroccan spherical lantern. Made with a beautiful recycled metal, the pendant's shade presents a charming globe form put together using a two-sided composition. With great attention to detail, Moroccan artisans produce a tight pattern of individually applied holes on the shade. Serving as an intriguing source of texture with the lights off, the holes let light escape dramatically like a starburst. Light filtering through casts a delightful design over the closest walls.
Dounia Home brings a slice of Moroccan tradition and modern ethical practices to their line of artisan-made lighting. Founder Dounia Tamri-Loeper brings her education and tenure with Michael Graves to her brand to offer insight into modern Moroccan art.
