The Industrial Mini Pendant by Michael McHale Designs is a bold blend of industrial and glam. High-quality, colorful crystals and refrigerator bulbs are supported by a masculine, steel pipe structure complete with fittings and all the hardware details. Inspired by a trip to the local hardware store, entertainment lawyer turned designer Michael McHale imagined combining rough gas piping with decorative elements to create lighting fixtures unlike any he had seen when completing his own apartment. Perfectly sized for compact spaces, this chandelier can also be clustered in a group to create a larger installment for a serious, statement-worthy look.
An inventive juxtaposition of the utilitarian and the exquisite, Michael McHale Designs displays an aesthetic sensibility that undercuts tidy categorization. Repurposed steel pipes are ruggedly raw; high-quality, fully-leaded crystals confer luxuriousness; the regular use of flame-tipped candelabra bulbs play off a traditional archetype long associated with elaborate chandeliers. The disparate material mediums stylistically balance the high and the low, successfully coalescing into a unique amalgamation that McHale understandably references as "industrial chic."
