Key Features
An elegant and minimal piece, the Drape Mini Pendant by SkLO brings an organic visual element and elevated atmosphere to its surroundings. Its distinct combination of modern design and artisanal materials begins with a single fabric-wrapped cord dropping from a circular canopy above. A small sphere made of handblown Czech glass is suspended at the end of the cord, diffusing light in every direction. A fire-polished mouth shows where the glass is broken from the blower’s pipe, enhancing the artisanal effect of the piece. A collaborative design by Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak, this piece abstractly explores the idea of giving structure to the relationship between glass and light.
SkLO is a collaborative design company founded by Pavel Hanousek, Karen Gilbert, and Paul Pavlak. Based out of Healdsburg, CA, the design team collaborates with master glassmakers in the Czech Republic. SkLO glass is built to order, artisans skillfully hand-blow glass for each of the lighting fixtures and objects in the collection. As such each piece is unique, and slight variation is welcome, emphasizing the beauty of the handmade process with every design.
