Key Features
As is the case with many Castor lamps, it's all about the afterlife. Designed around shades salvaged from a defunct Canadian lighting factory, the Castor Deadstock Floor Lamp successfully resuscitates forgotten about components. The fixture's unique functionality provides full rotational adjustability of the arms, as well as ability to move the arms back and forth. Additionally, the column is segmented, the top two tiers allowing the arms an additional 360° range of mobility. A convenient on/off foot switch is located on the power cord.
Rock 'n' roll lumberjacks. That pretty much sums up the punk rock-loving, Toronto-based design team of Castor Design. Experiments in upcycling have resulted in an eclectic array of contemporary lighting and accessories. Castor Design pieces are smart, industrial and elegant--and definitely tongue-in-cheek. Salvaged materials are given a new, bright life, such as old burnt-out light bulbs being turned into a shade for another fixture.
