The juxtaposition of hard and soft is notable through a beautifully composed concrete cylinder that makes up most of the bodice. Diffused illumination flows through an opening at the bottom and casts to the surface below. It’s the kind of stylish piece that would do well on its own or in multiples based on personal preference and style.
An Italian design company, Plato Design was founded in 2016 by Alessandro Mattei and Caterina Naglieri. Each product is made sustainably with concrete or wood and is designed and assembled by hand in the company’s workshop in the Umbrian countryside.
