Vanity Lights

To create a well-lit vanity, start by placing a vanity light above the mirror. The fixture should be at least 3-5" smaller than the width of the mirror and mounted 70-80" above the floor. An alternate arrangement would be mounting bath bars vertically on either side of the mirror. These should be spaced 28-30" apart and positioned 60-70" above the floor to create balanced, flattering light.

A ceiling light is key for providing general illumination in the bathroom. However, it is best to avoid placing the fixture directly above the vanity as overhead lighting in this area can create uneven lighting and harsh shadows.
