Originally designed by Greta Grossman, the GUBI lighting Cobra Wall Sconce is an organic fixture that represents a unique moment where California mid-century modernism became internationally recognized as a distinct style. A successor to the table lamp which won the Good Design Award in 1950, the Cobra collection represents features finely tuned movement with a smooth profile. The hooded shade can change the type of light in an instant; the shade can be adjusted vertically 90 degrees as well as rotated an addition 360 degrees, creating indirect light or vibrant up light if desired.
In 2001, Jacob and Sebastian Gubi took over their parent’s furniture business, transforming GUBI in to an internationally recognized design house for lighting, furniture, and accessories. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, GUBI is a purveyor of timeless and emerging designs, many of which are iconic and can be found in permanent collections around the world.
