Key Features
Designed in 1952, the Nelson™ Bubble Lamps® by Herman Miller® were important in defining mid-century modern design, and are so iconic that they are part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Made with a spray-coated plastic originally made for the military, the Nelson Cigar Bubble Wall Sconce features a bead-shaped steel frame that is slightly visible through the shade. The shade is attached to a Brushed Nickel Arm and Walnut mount, and is adjustable left-to-right and up-and-down with the help of a long cord and counterweight.
In 1945, George Nelson™ became the first design director for Herman Miller®, and, as they say, the rest is history. This legendary collaboration would establish Herman Miller as the premier manufacturer of home and office furniture for the modern American landscape. Today, the company continues to focus on lighting and furnishings with excellent form and function.
