With a scuptural, contemporary shape that reinterprets the natural plant, the Slamp Cactus Medium Table Lamp is as much a piece of art as it is a useful source of ambient lighting. Designed by Adriano Rachele, it's made out of light-diffusing Opalflex. The golden material emits a similarly-toned glow, which emphasizes the form of the symmetrically-placed "spikes."
First conceived in 1994 by Italian designer Roberto Ziliani, Slamp lighting has garnered world recognition as being at the top of a very short list of innovative and envelope-pushing lighting companies. Their range of products made of cutting-edge polymer plastics are cold-formed to avoid CO2 emissions, while excess scraps are recycled into beehives. Slamp, with their resounding mantra, "From Italy to Eternity," sets the stage for their newest and most avant-garde collections yet.
