Coates harnesses Slamp’s innovative materials and highly skilled artisans to create a piece with a nature-inspired feel. This piece calls for Slamp’s Opalflex material, one made from glass crystals and technopolymer, that proves flexible and transparent. Organically shapes incisions dot the Opalflex sheets beautifully with a double-image effect created by a layered composition. This intricate design moves in an abstract form that sits against your wall or ceiling with a set of 4 elegant curves. Your eyes are in for a treat as light makes its way through the organic incisions, creating a silhouette that moves your attention from one side to the other. The diffused light glazes the wall or ceiling with a soft shape that further accentuates the organic incisions.
First conceived in 1994 by Italian designer Roberto Ziliani, Slamp lighting has garnered world recognition as being at the top of a very short list of innovative and envelope-pushing lighting companies. Their range of products made of cutting-edge polymer plastics are cold-formed to avoid CO2 emissions, while excess scraps are recycled into beehives. Slamp, with their resounding mantra, "From Italy to Eternity," sets the stage for their newest and most avant-garde collections yet.
