Originally designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best of England, the GUBI Bestlite BL10 Wall Sconce takes swing arm task lighting to a new level. Emblematic of the German Bauhaus school of thought—which heavily influenced Best—the chrome details and smooth painted finishes of the aluminum shades embody the philosophy of fine art and craft working in harmony. The curved stem holding the shade is boosted with an additional horizontal adjustability like a work lamp, extending far from the wall if desired.
In 2001, Jacob and Sebastian Gubi took over their parent’s furniture business, transforming GUBI in to an internationally recognized design house for lighting, furniture, and accessories. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, GUBI is a purveyor of timeless and emerging designs, many of which are iconic and can be found in permanent collections around the world.
