Portugal-based studio DelightFULL pays homage to the pianist, bandleader, and composer with a mid-century design fitting of the period. DelightFULL’s works translate to your home as understated, personality-filled creations with a signature sense of cool. A flip of the switch highlights this sense of cool as a metallic cylinder hanging in the air shoots up a multi-stepped ambient glow and down a focused light. The wide dome shades mellow down the light, catching a warm glaze on their sweeping surfaces. Like a sharp tonal shift in a Count Basie song, the lamp’s metal stem shoots out dynamically to the side and cuts right back in for a lively silhouette. A low-profile marble base centers the piece physically and visually in its elegant veiny surface.
