The SLAMP Atlante Floor/Table Lamp by Slamp is lighting from the future brought into the present. Designed by Nigel Coates, the Atlante uses multiple light sources to add complexity to the already complex form. The general spherical shape of the shade is actually composed of numerous individual folds of clear Cristalflex. This is held stable upon a tripod base of stainless steel, finished in golden Fume.
First conceived in 1994 by Italian designer Roberto Ziliani, Slamp lighting has garnered world recognition as being at the top of a very short list of innovative and envelope-pushing lighting companies. Their range of products made of cutting-edge polymer plastics are cold-formed to avoid CO2 emissions, while excess scraps are recycled into beehives. Slamp, with their resounding mantra, "From Italy to Eternity," sets the stage for their newest and most avant-garde collections yet.
