The 84.26 Multi-Light Pendant by Bocci is a random configuration of luminous spheres that cluster and scatter throughout a space, created by designer and sculptor Omer Arbel. It is made when white glass is poured into a copper mesh basket and submerged in hot clear glass. Air is then blown into the matrix to create a suspended composition of white glass that pillows and escapes through its metal surroundings. As each piece is formed, the thick outer layer develops subtle undulations and the inner mesh crinkles and folds for a collection of one-of-a-kind glass pieces.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Bocci was started in 2005 by Omer Arbel as an in-house design company dedicated to creating exemplary products through material research. Bocci’s facilities handle all stages of development and production, including a multi-disciplinary collaboration between designers, architects and artisans. This cooperative environment excels in material advancement, constantly evolving Bocci’s collection with an emphasis on bespoke and high-quality product design.
