Key Features
The work of designer Omer Arbel and his team at Bocci is one that stresses the journey over the destination. Experimentation, happy-accidents, and new-found aspects of a material culminate in visually rich creations like the 84.1 Single Pendant. The stunning visual of light and fine texture begins as a white glass moil, wrapped with a fine copper mesh then dipped into a pool of molten glass. A blow by the artisans makes the white glass squeeze through the crevices of the metal, forming intricate pillowy details. Gentle light encompasses the hand-crafted lines of the spherical piece, shaded beautifully by the hue of the copper.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Bocci was started in 2005 by Omer Arbel as an in-house design company dedicated to creating exemplary products through material research. Bocci’s facilities handle all stages of development and production, including a multi-disciplinary collaboration between designers, architects and artisans. This cooperative environment excels in material advancement, constantly evolving Bocci’s collection with an emphasis on bespoke and high-quality product design.
