Key Features
In the early 2000s, world-renown designer Omer Arbel was secretly tinkering away in an old, agricultural barn, surrounded by raw material and heavy machinery. He produced what would become one of his most recognizable and transformative works, the 14 series. The 14.9 Linear Suspension is the culmination of Arbel's efforts, an optical beauty oozing with craftsmanship and sophistication. Its wondrous forms begin as cast hemispheres, tethered together at the seam. Its light is tucked inside a cylindrical void, "hypnotic" like how Arbel felt when first drilling through the forms. A warm, spirited glow highlights the silhouette of the spheres and the subtle yet wondrous bubbled imperfections.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Bocci was started in 2005 by Omer Arbel as an in-house design company dedicated to creating exemplary products through material research. Bocci’s facilities handle all stages of development and production, including a multi-disciplinary collaboration between designers, architects and artisans. This cooperative environment excels in material advancement, constantly evolving Bocci’s collection with an emphasis on bespoke and high-quality product design.
