In Italian, the term "gibigiana" refers to a flash of light reflected off a mirrored surface. Here, it also refers to the unique lighting mechanism employed by the Flos Gibigiana 1/2 Table Lamp, with useful task lighting provided by the inner halogen light source reflecting off of the adjustable mirrored disc. Designed by Achille Castiglioni in 1980.

FLOS was first established in 1962 in Merano, Italy, to produce high quality modern lighting.
