The Flos Lounge Gun Floor Lamp: provocative, ostentatious, thoughtful and symbolic. The aluminum lamp--shaped like an M-16-- is finished in gold or chrome, symbolizing the relationship between money and war. The lamp shade's interior features silk-screened crosses, symbolizing lives lost. Says Philippe Starck, "Why doesn't furniture show that everything is a political choice? I am a designer and design is my only weapon, so I use it to speak about what I think is important."
Flos was first established in 1962 in Merano, Italy, to produce high quality modern lighting. Resulting Flos lighting fixtures are daring and provocative, yet uphold the fundamental principles of good design.
