As Seen in Dwell July/August 2012
Clean, simple and quintessentially Scandinavian. Hand-crafted in Helsinki by Finnish cabinet makers, Secto Design's line of wooden pendants are built from birch and bring a distinctive architectural presence in their composition (designer Seppo Koho is, after all, an architect by trade). The 4200 Pendant sports a nearly two-foot tall shade, made entirely from slats of birch and hiding the light source at the top of the fixture. The meticulous aspects of Secto Design's work reflect both Japanese and Finnish design, with quiet beauty and design sensibility.
No fluff, no pretension. Just pure design with nothing to hide. Based in Finland, Secto Design gives Mother Nature a make-under with its uncomplicated birch wood pendants, wall sconces and table lamps that encapsulate the Finnish "less is more" philosophy. The distinctive Scandinavian look stems from the architectural mind of designer and owner, Seppo Koho, whose team handcrafts each visually relaxing ribbed architectural fixture from environmentally friendly materials.
