Gino Sarfatti’s Model 2097 Chandelier gives a Mad Men-era makeover to the traditional chandelier. Designed in 1958, the Model 2097--the utilitarian Sarfatti named all his fixtures by number instead of name—features 30 or 50 lights, making a statement over a dining table or hanging from a high ceiling. A strong central steel beam contrasts with the delicate stems that pay tribute to a classic chandelier shape. The Italian designer Sarfatti was self-taught, creating nearly 700 light fixtures between the mid-1930s and early 1970s.
It’s not easy to push the envelope in contemporary design, but premier Italian lighting manufacturer Flos has a reputation for doing just that—and for doing it successfully. With a vast collection of bold, exceptional and iconic fixtures, Flos has collaborated with the most inventive designers from around the globe, spotting emerging talent along the way. Effortlessly provocative with supreme engineering, each piece from the Flos line seamlessly enhances a space for the passionate soul.
