The Area Story
In her native Stockholm, Anki Spets was a very successful clothing designer. After moving to New York, however, Spets decided to put her love of fabrics and tailoring skills to better use by creating products that would last for a long time and not be so dependent on trends. So she founded Area in 1990 to design and produce her own unique line of versatile and enduring modern bedding, blankets, throw pillows and other textiles for the home. 25 years later, Area is still going strong--and soft.
Why We Love Area Home
Area, inc. bedding is refined yet relaxed, a perfect combination for the modern bedroom. Area bedding has original patterns and designs distinguished by subtle details and carefully chosen color palettes. The complete line of sheets, shams and duvet covers are designed to work together seamlessly, but they are so adaptable that they can work with pretty much any existing bedding or decor. And you can add quality to the list of assets; Area textiles are made using only the finest materials, like 100% organic cotton (sateen or percale), linen and baby alpaca wool.
A Fun Fact About Area
Spets is also the lead designer for Alma, a clothing collection for adults and children made primarily out of linen and baby alpaca.
