The &'Costa Story
Carlo Zerbaro grew up in the hydro-electric engineering field operated by his family. It's not clear how that translated into design, but for Carlo it did, and he moved into communication research in design, studying architecture and photography in the 1970s. He opened his own studio lab (&'Costa) in 2000 in Vicenza, Italy, where his designs are still made today.
Why We Love &'Costa Lighting
The idea of the collaborative is strong with &'Costa as artists and technicians work together to give shape to each designer's vision. Their contemporary lighting designs are an example of modern experimentation, combining various materials like wood and steel for one-of-a-kind fixtures. &'Costa works with a small group of designers, keeping the line intimate and distinctive, and their products have a fresh approach when it comes to European lighting.
