The top half quietly rotates around the spindle to reveal the bright white light source within. It's the changing relative position of the lamps' halves that causes a seductive fluctuation of the light's intensity and direction.

Renowned Italian architect, designer and painter Gio Ponti founded FontanaArte in 1932 as the artistic division of glassmaker Luigi Fontana. Ponti used Fontana glass to design lighting filled with his own visionary brand of sensuous, poetic modernism.
